Program

Our families are an integral part of our program

We believe that education starts at home and that parent participation is critical to student success.  Our parents are actively involved in all aspects of their child's learning.  When a student is enrolled at a Bright Star School, each family actively participates in the academic life of their child, and volunteers service to the school.  To further engage parents in their children's learning and we provide resources for parents on the curriculum and strategies to support their children at home.

What we look for in students and families

  • Families who know that they are an essential part of their child's education and are willing to share their own time and energy
  • Students who understand that hard work pays off and are willing to be at school from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., some Saturdays, and often during the summer
  • Families who will be accountable and supportive of their children in a program of high expectations and high achievement results
  • Students who want to be better readers, problem solvers, and citizens
